Advertising by its very nature is about standing out and getting your message across. If you find that your market share is dropping or your sales is going down. You can do what you have done before to remedy the situation. Or you can develop your business with a new idea and seize the initiative. It would appear when we are talking about new ideas in British politics the conservatives are leading. Why is this? because they embraced a new idea, the fact that the Labour party have copied it… will not help Labour at all.
If you want new business you have to do new things.
Running an e-commerce business means for obvious reasons I like to get things done online. In our hectic lifes I often do not have enough time to get my hair cut. Which results in my hair being way longer then I would like it. Obviously at no time in the immediate future am I going to be able to get my hair cut online. It is pity, as I would like getting it done before I take a shower and not having to leave my home. Which is just some of the benefits in other areas of e-commerce. Now I may be dreaming.
Technology is never going to replace human interaction in our life time. I do notice that there is a fear about what we can do online. Considerable more so then our competitors in the Orient. Many people fear the loss of their job or being replaced by a computer. As I write this it is the most ludicrous thought but the fear is there. Technology is there to help us. It is also the future.
The changes that came with the invention of the car have for most people been a benefit. Of course there were dramatic changes made and our society compared from now to back then in the physical sense is entirely different. What is still the same are the human emotions….. In the present economic and developmental climate I do not see the UK inventing online hairdressers,
I do think it should possible to look at different designs and order you haircut before you go for your appointment. This could be done online…
Seth Godin, Makes a number of very good ideas about meetings. One which I think is particular brilliant is that a meeting should be done standing up. That way you can be sure that all the participants are awake. read the rest here. http://www.typepad.com/t/trackback/2123/17856838
